LZPU Successfully Organized 2025 China-ASEAN Parallel Conference on Upgrading TVET Standards through AI Integration
From News Center (Text by Yang Qingshan, International Exchange Department; Photos by Chen Chen, Publicity Department of the Party Committee) On September 16, the parallel session themed "Upgrading TVET Standards through AI Integration" of the 2025 China (Guangxi) - ASEAN Conference on TVET Cooperation and Development was held in Liuzhou, Guangxi, China. The session was hosted by the Education Department of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, China, and organized by Liuzhou Polytechnic University of China (hereinafter referred to as “LZPU”), Guangxi Eco-Engineering Vocational and Technical College(hereinafter referred to as “GEVTC”), Forum Direktur Politeknik Negeri Seluruh Indonesia (hereinafter referred to as “FDPNI”), Guangxi LiuGong Machinery Co., Ltd., and SAIC-GM-Wuling Automobile Co., Ltd.
Attending the conference were Ojat Darojat, Deputy Minister of the Coordinating Ministry for Human Development and Cultural Affiars of Indonesia (hereinafter referred to as “Kemenko PMK”) , Oki Earlivan Sampurnoi, Special Staff of the Minister of Higher Education, Science and Technology of Indonesia (hereinafter referred to as “MoHEST”), An Yan, Deputy Secretary-General of China Education Association for International Exchange (hereinafter referred to as “CEAIE”),Hu Lan, Vice Mayor of Liuzhou Municipal People's Government of Guangxi, China, Huang Qingyun, Second-level Inspector of the Education Department of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, China, Liu Zilin, Chairman of LZPU and Gan Jinming, President of LZPU, among others.
At the conference, industry experts and representatives from industries and universities focused on in-depth exchanges around the innovative paths for improving TVET development through AI integration. Dong Yunpeng, Dean of the AI Research Institute of 360 Digital Security Group, focused on the application of AI in education security and digital skills training, and shared cutting-edge solutions for technology implementation; Wang Junming, Director of the Advisory Committee of National Machinery Industry Teaching in TVET, interpreted the upgrading directions of TVET curriculum systems and teaching models in the age of artificial intelligence from the perspective of policies and standards, providing important references for exploring the upgrading of TVET standards through AI integration.
Notably, LZPU's Al-empowered TVET achievements became the focus of attention at the venue. The industrial institute co-established with 360 Digital Security Group, carried out in-depth cooperation in areas such as digital security and artificial intelligence applications. During the conference, enterprises cooperating with LZPU showcased AI R&D achievements, including Unitree Robotics robots, AI maintenance assistants for numerical control equipment, and multilingual intelligent agents for equipment operation and maintenance. Meanwhile, faculty teams from School of Electronic Information Engineering, School of Trade and Tourism Management, and School of Arts also participated in the exhibition. They not only presented industrial service achievements developed for enterprises such as LiuGong and Saike Technology—including remote operation and maintenance intelligent agents and fault warning platforms—but also demonstrated, through interactive displays, the vivid practices of our university in integrating AI technology into professional teaching and empowering industrial upgrading, which won wide recognition from the participating guests.
During the conference, the China-Indonesia TVET Industry-Education Alliance (CITIEA) facilitated the signing of nine cooperation agreements on joint education programs between China and Indonesia, and officially launched the outcomes of the Indonesia-China TVET Enhancement Program (ICVEEP). Implemented by LZPU, the program aims to collaboratively develop program curricula and teaching resources, and to address challenges in aligning course content for dual-diploma joint programs. The project consortium comprises 28 Chinese vocational institutions and 8 Indonesian pilot polytechnics. To date, the program has successfully developed a set of standards for the Mechatronics program and its curriculum, which have received dual certification from the National Advisory Committee for TVET in the Machinery Industry of China and the Coordinating Ministry for Human Development and Cultural Affairs of Indonesia. At the ceremony, Mr. Ojat Darojat and Mr. Wang Zhiqiang—Deputy Director of the China Machinery Education Development Center and Deputy Director of the School-Enterprise Cooperation Committee under the National Advisory Committee—presented standard implementation approval letters to participating institutions. This marks an official launch of the first joint professional standard developed collaboratively by Chinese and Indonesian vocational institutions.
